Tom Stoppard Theatre
640 seats
The Duke of York's Theatre until September 2026, when it was renamed in honour of Sir Tom Stoppard. Rent plays here until 29 May 2027.
Inside the Tom Stoppard Theatre
It opened in 1892 as the Trafalgar Square Theatre and became the Duke of York's in 1895, a name it kept for more than a century. Peter Pan had its first performance here, in 1904. In September 2026 the theatre was renamed for Sir Tom Stoppard.
With 640 seats on three levels it is one of the smaller houses in the West End, which makes it a close room for a rock musical. Walter Emden designed it.
ATG Entertainment owns it and sells its tickets through ATG Tickets, whose pages for the theatre still carry the old name in their addresses.
Opening dates, capacities and architects on this page come from the theatre's own history pages and from Wikipedia.
