Inside the Garrick Theatre

W. S. Gilbert, the words half of Gilbert and Sullivan, had it built and leased it to the actor-manager John Hare, who opened it in 1889 with a new play by Arthur Wing Pinero. It is named after David Garrick, the eighteenth-century actor who ran Drury Lane.

It is a 733-seat house on Charing Cross Road, opposite Leicester Square station. Nimax Theatres owns it and sells its tickets direct, without a booking fee; access bookings go through Nimax on 0330 333 4815.

Opening dates, capacities and architects on this page come from the theatre's own history pages and from Wikipedia.
