Bridge Theatre

900 seats

A new theatre of 2017 at the foot of Tower Bridge, built by the two men who had run the National Theatre. Pride the Musical plays here from 12 November 2026.

Inside the Bridge Theatre

Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr, who had run the National Theatre together, opened it in October 2017 as the home of their London Theatre Company, in a new building by Haworth Tompkins on the south bank beside Tower Bridge.

The auditorium changes shape. It seats 900, or takes about 1,100 when the stalls are cleared for a promenade staging with the audience on its feet around the action. The Into the Woods now at the Noël Coward started here.

It is outside the West End, a walk along the river from London Bridge, and sells its own tickets; the theatre's site now presents it as one of the Trafalgar Entertainment Group's London venues.

Opening dates, capacities and architects on this page come from the theatre's own history pages and from Wikipedia.

Getting there

London Bridge on the Jubilee and Northern lines is about ten minutes' walk; Tower Hill on the District and Circle lines is across Tower Bridge.
