The Broadway run, and what a ticket actually buys

Purple Rain

For thirty-five years the Majestic Theatre was The Phantom of the Opera's. From 12 March 2027 it is Prince's: Purple Rain, the stage musical of his 1984 film and its Grammy-winning album, begins previews there and opens on 12 April.

It is not arriving untested. The musical had its world premiere in 2025 at the State Theatre in Minneapolis — Prince's city, and the film's.

More than twenty of his songs are in it, from “When Doves Cry” to “I Would Die 4 U”. Below is the run as the production lists it.
