One Day

What One Day actually is

Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew spend one night together after graduating from Edinburgh in 1988 and then do not quite become a couple for two decades. She is an idealist who wants to write; he is charming and privileged, and becomes a television presenter on the way up and then on the way down. The story is the gap between them, measured once a year.

David Nicholls' novel came out in 2009 and has since been a film and a television series. This is its first stage musical.

Max Webster directs, with choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille and design by Rae Smith. The evening runs about 2 hours 40 minutes with an interval, and it is recommended for ages 12 and up.
