Musical Today The London run, and what a ticket actually buys
One Day
The novel's trick is a date. One Day visits Emma and Dexter on 15 July every year for twenty years, starting the morning after they meet at their graduation, and leaves the reader to fill in everything in between.

The musical keeps it. David Greig wrote the book, Abner and Amanda Ramirez — the husband-and-wife duo Johnnyswim — wrote the music and lyrics, and Max Webster directs. It premiered in 2026 at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, the city where the story begins.
It comes to the Garrick Theatre on 17 November 2026 for a season to 14 March 2027, with Jamie Muscato as Dexter and Sharon Rose as Emma. Below is the run, and who sells it.
