Musicals in Nottingham

Both musicals here play a concert hall rather than a theatre. The Royal Concert Hall shares a building with Nottingham's Theatre Royal, seats 2,499, and opened in 1982 with Elton John on the first night, on the ground where Frank Matcham's Empire Palace stood until the road-wideners took it in 1969.

It sells its own tickets, and it gives Cats eleven nights in the first fortnight of January 2027 — the pantomime slot, in a room built for orchestras.
